Winter Jam Makes History As Final Concert at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome

February 11, 2017

The Winter Jam 2017 Tour Spectacular made history Saturday as the final concert in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. The venue, which will close later this year, played host to more than 27,000 people for Winter Jam, marking one of the tour’s biggest nights ever. Saturday’s concert featured Winter Jam’s all-star lineup along with special appearances from “American Idol” alum Danny Gokey; hip/hop recording artist Tedashii; “Duck Dynasty” stars Korie, John Luke and Mary Kate Robertson; Atlanta Braves great Otis Nixon; and Chris Conley, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and former University of Georgia standout.

Winter Jam 2017 showcases 10 of Christian music’s best and brightest artists: multi GRAMMY®-nominated singer/songwriter Crowder; Top 40 hit-maker and GRAMMY®-nominee Britt Nicole; Dove Award-winning fan favorites Tenth Avenue North; breakout pop/hip-hop recording artist Andy Mineo; Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter and “American Idol” finalist Colton Dixon; best-selling rockers Thousand Foot Krutch; and GRAMMY®-nominated Winter Jam creators and tour hosts, NewSong. In addition, the Pre-Jam Party, sponsored by Israel: Land of Creation, features OBB, Sarah Reeves and Steven Malcolm. The tour is also highlighted by a special appearance from “Duck Dynasty” television star Sadie Robertson, as well as a message from acclaimed author, speaker and evangelist Tony Nolan.

Presented by Holt International, Winter Jam will hit a total of 46 cities, visiting a host of leading venues around the country before concluding April 2 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additional tour sponsors include Liberty University, Samaritan Ministries, Premier Vacations & Events, Xtreme Conferences, Camp Electric, The Life Book Movement, 64 Audio, Texas TransEastern and Wayne E. Bailey Produce.

Winter Jam exploded from a single show in 1995 to the world’s #1 first quarter tour for four consecutive years, according to Pollstar. Throughout two decades, Winter Jam has helped provide a powerful platform for the Gospel in major arenas nationwide, consistently showcasing Christian music’s top artists.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
