Award-winning producer, composer, and artist Tommee Profitt releases his highly anticipated cinematic album, THE RESURRECTION OF A KING, today. Earlier this week, Profitt celebrated the project alongside collaborators at a premiere event for the K-LOVE On Demand documentary and album special. The two-hour film captures the heart behind the music with live performances recorded at Nashville’s iconic Oceanway Studio, exclusive interviews with Profitt and the featured artists, and behind-the-scenes footage from the album’s making. The 19-track project arrives following months of anticipation and is highlighted by the focus track, “We Turn Our Eyes,” featuring Jamie MacDonald. This song is a cinematic reworking of the classic hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” centered on the hope and victory of the Resurrection. A key lyric captures the heart of the song: sin no longer has dominion, and through the cross and Resurrection, we are made more than conquerors, stepping from death into everlasting life. Built with MacDonald’s voice in mind, the track showcases her powerful, steady vocal, delivering a dynamic and emotionally resonant performance that elevates the song’s impact.
“With THE RESURRECTION OF A KING, I wanted people to feel like they were there at the cross, or standing outside the tomb as Jesus walked out. That overwhelming, chills-inducing moment,” says Profitt. “I had tears in my eyes almost every day working on this project. The music was overwhelming. The content was overwhelming.
