Tommee Profitt Releases His Anticipated Album, THE RESURRECTION OF A KING

April 1, 2026

Award-winning producer, composer, and artist Tommee Profitt releases his highly anticipated cinematic album, THE RESURRECTION OF A KING, today. Blending cinematic production with deeply rooted faith themes, THE RESURRECTION OF A KING brings new life to beloved hymns including “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Jesus Paid It All,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Just As I Am.” The album features a standout lineup of artists such as Phil Wickham, CeCe Winans, CROWDER, Jenn Johnson, Ben Fuller, Jon Reddick, Jeremy Rosado, and more. Listen to the whole album now here and watch the K-LOVE special here.
Earlier this week, Profitt celebrated the project alongside collaborators at a premiere event for the K-LOVE On Demand documentary and album special. The two-hour film captures the heart behind the music with live performances recorded at Nashville’s iconic Oceanway Studio, exclusive interviews with Profitt and the featured artists, and behind-the-scenes footage from the album’s making. Artists in attendance at the premiere included Bay Turner, Abe Parker, Jeremy Rosado, Anthony Evans, Stanaj, FLEURIE, Mara Justine, Isaac Mather, Jon Reddick, Jordan Smith, Travis Cottrell, and the album’s full ensemble of vocalists. The 19-track project arrives following months of anticipation and is highlighted by the focus track, “We Turn Our Eyes,” featuring Jamie MacDonald. This song is a cinematic reworking of the classic hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” centered on the hope and victory of the Resurrection. A key lyric captures the heart of the song: sin no longer has dominion, and through the cross and Resurrection, we are made more than conquerors, stepping from death into everlasting life. Built with MacDonald’s voice in mind, the track showcases her powerful, steady vocal, delivering a dynamic and emotionally resonant performance that elevates the song’s impact.
“With THE RESURRECTION OF A KING, I wanted people to feel like they were there at the cross, or standing outside the tomb as Jesus walked out. That overwhelming, chills-inducing moment,” says Profitt. “I had tears in my eyes almost every day working on this project. The music was overwhelming. The content was overwhelming. The subject matter was overwhelming. And once the singers stepped in and pushed their voices to the absolute edge of what they could do, proclaiming something so victorious and powerful over music that feels cinematic and massive… it became almost too much to hold—in the best way.”
THE RESURRECTION OF A KING follows Profitt’s acclaimed THE BIRTH OF A KING, which has generated more than 200 million global streams and evolved into an annual live holiday concert event. Across his career, Profitt has amassed over 100 billion global streams, more than 300 major sync placements, and 49 RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications. With today’s release, Profitt continues to redefine worship music through a cinematic lens, delivering a project that bridges tradition and innovation while pointing listeners back to the foundation of faith.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
