Tommee Profitt Announces New Easter Album, “The Resurrection of a King”

February 11, 2026

Award-winning composer for TV & Film, producer, and songwriter Tommee Profitt announces his new project, THE RESURRECTION OF A KING, releasing this Easter season on March 27, 2026. Last week, Profitt unveiled the first single, “He Arose,” featuring worship leader Phil Wickham.
“This first song is a perfect way to kick off the project,” shares Tommee Profitt. “This album is a cinematic reimagining of timeless hymns. We took the old hymn ‘Up from the Grave He Arose’ and wrote a brand new anthem for today.”
Wickham adds, “This song is so epic, and I’m truly honored to be part of it. It’s a massive celebration of our risen King Jesus.”
THE RESURRECTION OF A KING features reimagined beloved hymns, including “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Jesus Paid It All,” “Just As I Am,” and “Amazing Grace,” serving as a cinematic soundtrack to the Easter story. The project also highlights some of the industry’s largest names, including Wickham, CeCe Winans, Crowder, Jenn Johnson, Jamie MacDonald, Jon Reddick, Ben Fuller, and more.
“I truly felt commissioned to make this album, like it was a life purpose,” Profitt said when he announced this vision for this new project.
The album follows Profitt’s acclaimed holiday release, THE BIRTH OF A KING. A cinematic Christmas album that presents awe-inspiring, reimagined renditions of beloved Christmas songs, each powered by an aggressive modern orchestra and featuring some of the industry’s best vocalists. This album has surpassed 200 million streams to date, solidifying its status as a top-streaming holiday album across the market.
Since 2020, THE BIRTH OF A KING has become a globally celebrated live event based on the hit album, featuring a 50-piece orchestra, 100-person choir, and full band. In 2026, Profitt will return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena for two nights of the holiday event following a sold-out 12,000-person performance last year.
With over 100 billion global streams, 300+ major sync placements, and 49 RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications, Profitt remains one of today’s most impactful creative forces in music.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
