TCM Celebrates 27 Years of Charting Australia’s Christian Music Hits

January 4, 2026

TCM (Today’s Christian Music) has released its annual Top 100 Songs and Top 50 Artists, marking the 27th year of tracking the most played Christian music across Australian radio.

At the top of the 2025 chart, You Never Gave Up On Me by The Afters emerged as the year’s biggest hit.

The song spent an extraordinary 28 weeks on the chart, including 14 weeks at #1 and 25 weeks in the Top 10, making it one of the most dominant performances in TCM history.

The Top 50 Artists list highlights consistency and reach.

Forrest Frank led all artists with six entries in the weekly TCM chart, while Seph Schlueter followed with five, as well as For King + Country and Ryan Ellis with four.

Established names including Lauren Daigle, Jordan Feliz, Josiah Queen, and Brandon Lake each placed three songs.

Australian talent also shone brightly. For King + Country, Aodhan King, Planetboom, and Kate Westwood all earned significant national airplay, proving that homegrown voices are connecting powerfully alongside international acts.

The charts also revealed anomalies worth noting:

  • Cross-genre collaborations, such as Brandon Lake with Jelly Roll (Hard Fought Hallelujah) and Forrest Frank with Thomas Rhett (Nothing Else), brought mainstream country and hip-hop influences into Christian radio.
  • Nearly one in five songs on the survey were collaborations, underscoring the growing role of partnerships in Christian music.
  • Rising voices like Carly Ann Taylor, Claire Leslie and Rachel Purcell joined veterans like MercyMe and Lauren Daigle, showing the balance of fresh creativity and enduring appeal.

Together, the 2025 charts confirm Christian radio’s role in amplifying diverse sounds – worship anthems, pop-infused tracks, and genre-crossing collaborations – while continuing to inspire listeners nationwide.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
