Petra Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Release of “Petra – Fifty (Anniversary Collection)” and Select Tour Dates

Petra, the legendary Christian rock band, is celebrating their 50th anniversary with the release of a special 3-disc collection titled “Petra – Fifty (Anniversary Collection)”. The collection features 50 career-spanning remastered tracks, chosen by the band’s founder and guitarist, Bob Hartman, showcasing the band’s incredible talent and enduring influence on Christian music.

The 50th anniversary marks a significant milestone for Petra, who have been at the forefront of Christian rock since their inception in 1972. Over the years, Petra has released 24 albums and won four Grammy Awards, inspiring generations of Christians with their powerful message and musical prowess.

The “Petra – Fifty (Anniversary Collection)” features classic hits like “This Means War,” “Beyond Belief,” and “More Power to Ya,” as well other gems that have helped define the band’s legacy. The collection also includes a 24 page book featuring rare photos and reflections from the band members along with a complete Petra biography.

“We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 50th anniversary with this special collection of our music,” said Petra’s founding member Bob Hartman. “I’m excited to share these career-spanning tracks that have shaped our journey over the years. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing our message of faith, hope, and love with our fans around the world.”

Petra – Fifty (Anniversary Collection) is available for pre-order now in both standard and deluxe edition at GirderMusic.com, the company behind all the recent Petra CD and vinyl remasters. The deluxe edition includes a special UV printed outer-sleeve and 3 LTD collector cards. As a bonus surprise, some deluxe versions will include a hand-autographed card from Bob Hartman and John Schlitt.

In addition to the album release, Petra will be touring select dates in 2023, bringing their powerful live show to fans across the country. Details of the tour dates will be announced soon.

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
