Peter Burton Honors His Grandfather with New Song, “Life”

July 14, 2026

Breakout artist Peter Burton releases a deeply personal song, “Life,” inspired by one of the final conversations he shared with his grandfather, TJ. The song serves as a poignant reminder to slow down, cherish what matters most, and embrace a life rooted in faith and family. Listen to “Life” now and watch the music video below.

Before his grandfather passed away, Burton received advice that would forever shape his perspective. “One of the lines my grandfather shared with me was, ‘It’s one thing to make a living, it’s another thing to make a life.’ I’ll never forget that conversation. It led me to write a song about the things in life that really matter and a song that would also honor his legacy.”

In this new song, Burton reflects on the tension many people face between chasing success and being present for life’s most meaningful moments. The song captures his desire to live intentionally, prioritizing faith, family, and relationships above the busyness that often consumes everyday life. At its core, “Life” offers listeners an authentic glimpse into Burton’s heart and the values that shape both his music and ministry.

Today’s song follows Burton’s newest single, “So Long,” released in April and currently impacting Christian radio. Burton also continues to build momentum with his breakthrough hit “Where Would I Be,” which spent nine weeks at No. 1 and currently sits inside the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
