Pat Barrett Releases Live Acoustic Song, Video Of “Sails” Available Now

September 30, 2018

Bowyer & Bow / Capitol Christian Music Group artist, songwriter and worship leader Pat Barrett debuts a newly recorded acoustic live version of his stunning ballad “Sails.” Featuring Amanda Lindsey Cook and Steffany Gretzinger on the new recording, the single is available now in both audio and video formats.

The original studio version of “Sails” appears on Barrett’s self-titled full-length debut that topped the Christian iTunes Album chart when it released this summer. Barrett also received instant acclaim from the media upon his release, such as The Worship Podcast, CCM Magazine, Cross Rhythms and Song Revolution Podcast, while Worship Musician Magazine touted Barrett’s album debut “…filled with great songs that are just as well suited for CCM radio as they are for Sunday morning worship – we love it!”

The album’s first single, “The Way (New Horizon),” continues to climb at radio. Last week it reached No. 5 on the Christian Audience radio chart and is currently top 10 on multiple other charts.

DOVE AWARDS NOMINEE: It was announced in August that Pat Barrett is nominated for the prestigious New Artist Of The Year Award at the upcoming 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Slated to present an award during the pre-telecast, he will also perform his new radio single “Build My Life.” The Dove Awards will be held at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena on October 16 and will air on Trinity Broadcast Network on Oct. 21.

Barrett, who has already celebrated 15 years in his career, is the flagship artist on GRAMMY® Award winner Chris Tomlin’s imprint record label, Bowyer & Bow, in partnership with Capitol Christian Music Group. He is currently on tour in Canada with Tomlin’s “Good Good Father Tour,” and plans are underway for a tour during spring 2019.

ABOUT PAT BARRETT: Best known as one of the primary singer/songwriter for the band Housefires, Pat Barrett is a worship leader at Grace Midtown in Atlanta, GA. With songs such as “Build My Life” and “Good Good Father,” Barrett is a key songwriter and artist in the broader worship community. He is the first signing on Chris Tomlin’s new label imprint, Bowyer & Bow, in partnership with Capitol CMG. Barrett also partnered with Tomlin to write the children’s book Good Good Father, which to date has sold more than 200,000 copies. I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
