Marvel Comics’ Monsters Unleashed! Trailer Uses Skillet Tracks As Soundtrack

March 11, 2017

Skillet’s “Back From the Dead” serves as the musical backdrop for Marvel Comics’ latest comic book series, Monsters Unleashed!, trailer. The track, which is top 20 on the Active Rock Building, Active Rock Rolling and Active Rock Published Charts, is found on their chart-topping album Unleashed. Frontman & lifelong Marvel fan John Cooper, alongside his bandmates were featured on “This Week in Marvel” podcast, recorded at Marvel’s Headquarters in New York City.

Masterfully mixing animated comics with in-depth narration and commentary, the new video series from Marvel is designed to present a whole new audience to the world of Marvel’s gargantuan monsters, timed with the debut of the brand new comic book series MONSTERS UNLEASHED!, available now in all local comic retailers. As the cataclysm of MONSTERS UNLEASHED! continues to unfold, new videos will be released monthly to educate new and old fans about the monsters of the Marvel Universe and the MONSTERS UNLEASHED! series through commentary and motion graphics, as well as an energetic score from some of the world’s biggest musical acts.

Marvel Comics’ Editor In Chief Axel Alonso tells Billboard, “Monsters Unleashed! is what Marvel does best: a gigantic, bombastic battle for the fate of the world. With its kinetic, hard-hitting sound, Skillet’s ‘Back From the Dead’ is the perfect accompaniment for a story that pits the world’s biggest superheroes against skyscraper-size monsters.”

Skillet released an acoustic version of “Stars,” their chart-topping Christian Hot AC single, as part of THE SHACK: MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY THE ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE. The acoustic music video made for the film and accompanying soundtrack resonated, already being viewed on YouTube over 3.1 million times. The group was also nominated for a fan-fueled K-LOVE Fan Award in the “Group/Duo of the Year” category. Voting opens May 1 with the awards taking place on May 28 at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry.

February and March has found the GRAMMY® nominated rockers traversing coast to coast headlining the “Unleashed Tour 2017” with sold-out dates around the country. Skillet will be joining KORN for the second half of their “The Serenity of Summer” tour this coming July and August. For the latest tour information, visit www.Skillet.com.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
