Leanna Crawford Delivers Debut Album, “Still Waters”

July 20, 2024

Provident Entertainment/Sony Music artist, singer-songwriter Leanna Crawford has released her highly anticipated debut album Still Waters; the 14-track album is available now across all streaming platforms. The inspirational body of work showcases Leanna’s exceptional talent and deep faith through a collection of powerful, inspiring songs. From today through Monday, 100% of net proceeds from all pre-orders purchased on her web store to the global non-profit Charity Water.

Leanna has quickly become a beloved figure in the contemporary Christian music scene with her heartfelt lyrics, captivating melodies, and a voice that resonates with authenticity and grace. Still Waters reshaping perspectives and putting all one’s faith and trust in God even when times grow weary. The record was inspired by Crawford’s journey into the music industry, she moved to Nashville and signed with her label with a preconceived idea of what her path would look like. Through a lot of prayer, discipline and valuable input from people in her life, Crawford was able to express through words and melody what was stirring in her heart. The straight-forward path she thought she’d been on looked different, but she was still moving forward in faith.

“I am beyond excited to share ‘Still Waters’ with the world,” shares Leanna. “This album is a reflection of my personal journey and the peace that comes from trusting in God’s plan. My hope is that these songs bring comfort and encouragement to everyone who listens.

The full length album features six new tracks on the album including “For Heaven’s Sake,” “Honest,” and “Rest,” along with previously released songs including her latest single, the title track,“Still Waters (Psalm 23)” which proves to be Leanna’s largest streaming single out of the gate, after fans begged her to finish the song after posting clips of it on social media.

“This record is full of songs pointing back to that reshaping – songs about finding my first love in Jesus and coming back to the simplicity of grace and the beauty of it,” explains Leanna.

Leanna has spent the last several years crafting this first album offering, which includes 14 songs like the fan-favorites “Make it Through,” “How Can You Not,” and “Vow To Be Yours”. The track “Still Waters” was teased nearly two years ago via the singer’s TikTok and Instagram, garnering immediate interest from fans and new listeners alike. The message of the song draws from real-life inspiration: “Great-Aunt Maurine said at 103 / Write scripture on your heart for when you need it / ‘Cause anxiety hates Psalm 23 / So just say it to yourself ’til you believe it.” Leanna’s Great-Aunt Maurine lived to be 103, but in her 40’s she learned that she was going blind. She decided to memorize as much of the Bible as she could before her sight left her. Great-Aunt Maurine led Leanna’s mom to Christ, and that influence has been passed down to Leanna.

Still Waters is available now on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, as well as in stores. For more information on Leanna Crawford and her debut album, visit https://www.leannacrawford.com or follow her on social media at @leannacrawfordmusic.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
