Kirk Franklin Is Back With “Wanna Be Happy?”

September 5, 2015

Last week, GRAMMY® winning recording artist, songwriter and super producer, Kirk Franklin, released “Wanna Be Happy?” the first single from his forthcoming eleventh album and the response was tremendous. Billboard.com broke the news with an exclusive interview followed by the song’s radio debut on the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show. iHeart radio, joined in on the “happy” campaign and played the song every hour on the hour on release date and Kirk ended the week with a live performance of the single on the season 8 finale of BET’s Sunday Best. Radio stations across the nation including The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, press and fans alike have quickly embraced Kirk’s new hit. “Wanna Be Happy?” is available everywhere music is digitally sold.

Kirk explains the inspiration for the new single: “Every human being was wired with the desire for happiness. And we will try different things all in the pursuit of that feeling. With this song I’m saying if you really want to be happy, you have to start with the originator. My goal is to try to lead people to the manufacturer of their souls.”

Don’t miss the re-air of the season 8 Sunday Best finale with Kirk’s performance of “Wanna Be Happy?” on Sunday, September 6th on BET.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
