Josh Wilson Celebrates New Season with First Company Management

August 24, 2019

Acclaimed Black River Christian singer/songwriter and radio hitmaker Josh Wilson is the latest addition to the First Company Management roster, it was announced today by the firm’s general manager, Mike McCloskey. Home to GRAMMY®-nominated, Platinum-selling Newsboys, First Company is among Christian music’s top full-service entertainment management agencies, representing a stable of distinguished artists across the genre.

“I’ve been searching for the right manager for a while now, and I can say that Mike McCloskey was well worth the wait,” said Wilson. “He’s insightful, talented, creative and kind. He knows the music business well and knows that at the end of the day, it’s all about people and relationships. I’m honored to be working with him and can’t wait to see what’s next.”

“Our First Company team couldn’t be more excited and honored to partner with Josh Wilson,” said McCloskey. “The success he’s achieved so far is remarkable, and we know he’s only getting started!”

Named ASCAP’s Christian Songwriter/Artist of the Year in 2012, Josh Wilson has garnered two #1 hits—”Jesus Is Alive” and “Before The Morning”—as well as multiple Top 10 singles, including “That Was Then, This Is Now,” “Savior, Please” and “I Refuse.” Writing or co-penning all five tracks on his latest release, Don’t Look Back, the project features the Top 10 hit “Dream Small” and Top 20 hit “Borrow (One Day At A Time).” Wilson’s latest single, “OK,” is impacting Christian radio formats today and is also available digitally.

In addition, Wilson—who has toured with some of Christian music’s biggest artists, including Casting Crowns, Matthew West and Steven Curtis Chapman—is set to host and headline “The Roadshow Futures Tour” this fall.

First Company Management was established in 1995 by Christian music visionary Wes Campbell. Under the guidance of Campbell and Dave Wagner, the firm’s roster includes GRAMMY®-nominated, Platinum-selling Newsboys; GRAMMY®-nominated singer/songwriters Ryan Stevenson and Rhett Walker; modern worship pioneer Martin Smith; Christian radio hitmakers 7eventh Time Down; multi-GMA Canada Covenant Award-winner Jordan St. Cyr; former Stellar Kart and Audio Adrenaline frontman Adam Agee; Anberlin lead vocalist Stephen Christian; Christian radio breakout artist Cochren & Co.; lauded worship leaders London Gatch and Conrad Johnson; singer/songwriters Tasha Layton, Stillman and Joshua Micah; and speaker, social media influencer and author Jordan Lee Dooley. In addition, First Company played a significant role in the development of “God’s Not Dead,” one of the most successful faith-based film franchises of all time.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
