Hillsong Worship Releases Live Multitrack Version of “Fresh Wind”

May 22, 2021

GRAMMY® Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling Hillsong Worship announces the release of “Fresh Wind / What A Beautiful Name (Live).” Out today, the multitrack single includes a live medley version of “Fresh Wind” and “What A Beautiful Name” featuring Hillsong United’s TAYA and Hillsong Worship’s David Ware as co-primary artists. The second track includes the original studio recording of “Fresh Wind” which released earlier this year and is currently the highest U.S. audio streaming debut of any Hillsong song to date, amassing more than 942,000 street week streams. Globally, “Fresh Wind” now has more than 8.2 million streams. Listen to the new multitrack single here and watch the live video here.

“‘Fresh Wind’ was born out of an urgency to see Christ’s church rebuilt, restored and rescued,” says Hillsong Worship’s David Ware. “I believe that there comes a time and place in every generation where there is a significantly great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. A move of God that marks a whole generation of believers and welcomes a new generation of searching non-believers home – one so great that it is as unavoidable as the sound of an explosive gust of wind.”

Ware adds, “It was incredible to finally record the voices of our church family singing this song over every person who is yet to hear this powerful confession. Our hope is that these words and their voices fill cars, homes, offices, hallways, hospital rooms, government buildings, prisons and anywhere else that this prayer needs to be heard and sung.”

With a catalogue of songs sung by an estimated 50 million people worldwide each week, Hillsong Worship is comprised of a diverse global community and built on the foundation of connection and community. The group continues to reach nations and generations by writing and leading songs that influence both individual devotion and congregational worship for the glory of God.

Hillsong Worship has garnered 7 billion career streams and over 20 million career album sales to date. In 2018, the group earned its first-ever GRAMMY® for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song/Performance with “What A Beautiful Name” and has won nine GMA Dove Awards. While the GRAMMY® Award winning “What A Beautiful Name” topped the Christian Airplay charts for nine consecutive weeks and reached RIAA Platinum certification (900 million global streams), a host of others such as, “Who You Say I Am,” “King of Kings,” “Cornerstone,” “Mighty To Save” and “This I Believe (The Creed)” continue to inspire, encourage and minister to millions of people around the globe.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
