Audrey Assad Returns To Fan-Funding For New Hymns Album

May 10, 2015

Former Sparrow Records artist Audrey Assad, who has since returned to the indie circuit and released a new album Fortunate Fall (among other side projects), has taken to PledgeMusic to fund a brand new hymns project. Although she launched the campaign less than a week ago, it’s already almost completely funded, but fans can still preorder the project–and then vote for what songs will be covered on it–at pledgemusic.com/audreyassad

About the album, Assad writes…

Friends, supporters, and generally awesome people, In a few weeks, I’ll begin recording a new full-length record, and I want to collaborate with you. I’ll be recording hymns-a blend of covers and originals, set in a textured and vibrant sonic landscape that (I hope) truly pays honor to these beautiful pieces. Hymns can range from wide and majestic to quiet and intimate-there will be some of both on this record, and everything in between.

The MOST exciting part about this is that you guys get to help me shape the project from the outset, just by pre-ordering at Pledgemusic. You can help me choose the songs, the album artwork, and even more fun things as the campaign goes on. AND if you pre-order at $20 or higher, no matter which items you choose, you get two songs from me RIGHT. NOW. (That’s new music, people!)

To pre-order, receive the new tracks, vote, and more: pledgemusic.com/audreyassad

In addition to all the music-related stuff you can get when you pre-order (CDs, vinyls, downloads etc) we’re also offering some incredible new items like hard-cover customized journals, a limited edition version of the CD with a beautiful lyric book, tee shirts, framed/hand-drawn lyric art and more-and I’ll be selling some of the gear I’ve used over the last few years making my various projects, too. You can even get your name in the liner notes!

I would be just over the moon if you wanted to be part of my new album. I thought that, in the spirit of these glorious works of art we call “hymns”, a collaborative/corporate record-making process would be apropos and a lot of fun. Pre-order today to help me create what I hope will be a beautiful, rich tapestry of offerings to the Church, from the Church.

To pre-order and vote, go to pledgemusic.com/audreyassad love!! xoxo Audrey

P.S. As of May 5th, we’re already at 80% of our goal! But the campaign will continue well after we hit 100%. Voting periods for hymns happen weekly for the next 3 weeks. The first voting period ends May 6th.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
