Shane and Shane Debut Worship Anthem for Film “Light of the World”

June 2, 2025

Acclaimed worship duo Shane & Shane released a brand new song and accompanying music video today for the highly-anticipated film, LIGHT OF THE WORLD, set to premiere in the theaters nationwide September 5, 2025. The song, “Light of the World Medley,” is a stirring anthem of hope and redemption, created in partnership with The Salvation Poem Project.

“It’s been wonderful to partner with Shane & Shane as they reimagine ‘The Salvation Poem’ within this powerful new medley,” said Matt McPherson, founder of The Salvation Poem Project. “The original song has already reached over a billion people, and our hope is that this new version will go even further, guiding many more to a personal relationship with Christ and advancing the Kingdom in an even greater way.”

Blending heartfelt lyrics with Shane & Shane’s signature harmonies and acoustic-driven sound, “Light of the World Medley” captures the central message of the film: the life-transforming power of Jesus Christ. The medley opens with “The Salvation Poem”—the foundational song written by Matt and Sherry McPherson that sparked the entire project—and flows into a brand-new worship track written by Shane & Shane. Together, the two pieces form a powerful musical and spiritual anchor for the film’s message.

“We’ve loved partnering with our friends at The Salvation Poem Project in combining a magnificent explosion of colorful art with a truly joyful sound—all wrapped around the greatest story ever told,” said Shane & Shane. “LIGHT OF THE WORLD brings the gospel to life in a way that stirs both the heart and the imagination. As worship leaders, it was a joy to create music that echoes that story—we hope it leads people into a deeper encounter with who Jesus really is.”

“LIGHT OF THE WORLD has always been about making the story of Jesus accessible, beautiful, and deeply personal,” said producer Brennan McPherson. “Shane & Shane captured that heart with such sincerity. Their music feels like an extension of the film itself—drawing people in and helping them experience the gospel in a fresh, unforgettable way.”

The single “Light of the World Medley” is now available on all major music streaming platforms. The song is also being serviced to Christian radio stations nationwide in the lead-up to the film’s release.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
