Cory Asbury Announces New Album, “Pioneer,” for Release Sept. 15

July 30, 2023

Today, multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY Award Nominee, Cory Asbury has announced his long-awaited fifth studio album, Pioneer. The 11-song project is set to be released September 15th via BEC Recordings. Drawing influence from Nashville’s music scene, Pioneer explores a new side of Asbury while maintaining honest and cutting lyrics that speak to the fragility of the human experience. For this record, Asbury co-wrote with a veritable who’s-who in Nashville including Lori McKenna (Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift), Shane Stevens (Lady A, Walker Hayes), Tom Douglas (Kane Brown, Miranda Lambert), and Paul Mabury (Lauren Daigle, Chris Tomlin) to create a body of work that showcases his heart as an artist. Pre-order Pioneer on CD, Vinyl or digital platforms HERE.

“I’ll always be the ‘Reckless Love’ guy, but my art has evolved. I’ve changed. I’ve grown. And hopefully after more than 3 years, I’ve got something new to say. After all, that is the office of the artist—to give language to the things we all feel and experience.”

In addition to the announcement of new music, Asbury has debuted the latest track from the album, “These Are The Days.” The deeply relatable anthem speaks to how quickly time passes while raising children and the desire to relish every moment we get. “These Are The Days” follows the release of “Kind” last month which has already surpassed 2 million streams, has been added to multiple editorial playlists, and has been featured as the cover image for major playlists on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Pandora. Listen to “These Are The Days” HERE.

Pioneer Tracklist:

Like many before him, multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter Cory Asbury got his start singing in church at 14 and by 21 was a full-time performer. His 2009 debut, Let Me See Your Eyes, formally launched his career and set the stage to a hard-earned record deal in 2015. Asbury’s seminal album Reckless Love (2018), landed on the top of the Billboard charts, earning him two Dove Awards and a 2019 Grammy nomination. The title track, “Reckless Love,” has been certified 3x Platinum, spent 18 weeks at #1, and earned Billboard, ASCAP, and BMI Christian Song of the Year honors. In 2019, Asbury released his follow up LP, To Love A Fool, featuring the Gold certified single “The Father’s House.” To date, Asbury has garnered 952 million domestic U.S. streams, 130 million video views, nearly 2.5 million monthly Spotify listeners, and over 2 billion audience impressions.

I think I was born with a pair of headphones attached to my head!

I have always loved radio and was introduced to Contemporary Christian Music when I was a lowly freshman in high school, way back in 1977! "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials, "Your Love Broke Through" by Keith Green and others were the first songs I heard and played over and over again!
